stingrays

 

Yesterday was a fantastic day at the beach. The water was about as calm and clear as it gets and there were several stingrays swimming around. I didn't do a good job of capturing them with the camera, but if you look close you can make them out.

why won't ours bloom?

 

I've been to Pt. Mugu a couple times and the Birds of Paradise at the hotel have been in bloom both times. As far as I know, we have some in our back yard, but they haven't bloomed yet. Hopefully they'll bloom this year.
