The new guy

Here's a shot of the new guy. As you can see, his coat makes him look like he's wearing a tuxedo. So he is a bit overdressed for our house. Most people just wear shorts and flip flops around here.
He came from SOCKS in FWB and had been there since birth. When we got him, he smelled like hell and had a URI and a tapeworm. I really don't think they knew what a cool cat he is. Our first clue of that should have been that the name they had given him. It was stupid and didn't fit his personality at all. Oh well, their loss.

He doesn't really like toys or catnip, but he'll chase a laser for hours. And, when he gets excited he 'chirps'... He really wants to be friends with his new brother, but brother doesn't really want to have anything to do with him. Hopefully that will change soon. He really loves his new mama!

Midgets visit the beach.

I keep forgetting my camera. I should be ashamed of myself.

Anyway, Shelby came and stayed with us this past weekend and we went to the beach for the first time this year. Rena gor some photos on her phone, I got slightly sunburned and Shelby got a whole bucketful of shells. A good time was had by all.

Salty

I haven't seen too many midshipmen around here, but it makes sense that there would be a significant number of them in the area. This is "Salty." He keeps the shores secure and the waters safe.

Blue Angel I pelican

This guy is a tribute to the Navy. Pensacola is the home of the Blue Angels and this guy is painted up like one of the F-18 jets they fly. He's not located far from his pelican buddies that represent the other services. The Blue Angels home show at Pensacola Beach is one of my favorite events of the year. They always put on a great show and the beach is always packed with enthusiastic fans.

Soldier Pelican

This guy represents the many soldiers who live and work here on the gulf coast. May all those who are deployed make it home safely. -

Style-ican

Sorry: Not much to say today. I meant to post some pictures from Nauga, but I haven't transferred them from my camera yet. Anyway, this is the stylican. She isn't listed in the gallery of pelicans, so I'll have to ask around and see if its one of the orignal 40+ or if there is more to the story.

Nauga photos tommorrow.

Cheers.
